This is a lesson on the building blocks of Blues soloing/improvisation. The goal of this particular lesson is to enable the beginner to be able to start to think of musical ideas for him/herself using a logical and symmetrical scale pattern.
The source material for this pattern is the Minor Pentatonic scale. We then move to a more "player friendly" finger pattern. Then we add the flatted 5th for that jazzy-bluesy sound. We'll also cover "target tones", or tones of rest. These are notes the beginning improviser will want to stop at for that resolved sound; as opposed to sounding like there's just a bunch of notes without end.
Finally, Luis discusses how to germinate an idea and expand upon it to create a longer improvised line. You'll really enjoy this one, folks!
